This route starts at the spring known as Font d'Aixa, which is accessed by way of the CV-748 road, at kilometre 5. Once next to the pond, head in a westerly direction. Cross the Font d'Aixa ravine and shortly after there is a deviation towards the village of Llíber. About 300 metres further on, there is a fork in the path, where you have to continue straight on towards Llíber. From this point, go towards a house in ruins, which used to be a water mill, and then again across the ravine known as Barranc de la Font d'Aixa so as to little by little ascend in a westerly direction towards the peak that is in front of you. Shortly after passing next to the ruins of another dry stone house, cross the ravine and begin the zigzag climb towards Llíber. Follow the path until you reach a crossroads, whereupon you have to take the path on the left. From this point on, until you reach the well of the Castle of Aixa, the path is practically flat. Afterwards, you begin to climb to the top (606 m), where you can see some remains of the fort that give the peak its name. A few metres later, you can see the link to the main path that goes down the other side of the peak. This variant goes back along the same section that you climbed. Go past the well and at the next crossroads go straight on, in a northeasterly direction. Go past a fallen tree and after the small ascent the trail becomes almost flat. Follow the path until you get to a crossroads where you have to continue straight on until you connect up with variant II. Keep going straight on until the next crossroads and take the path on the left, heading southwest, leaving variant II. Go down along the path until you reach the link with variant IV, and go to the end of this variant.
