At the top of the mountain range called Serra de la Solana you can see the Castle of Aixa, located between Pedreguer, Xaló, Llíber and Gata de Gorgos. It was constructed by the Muslims and was a surveillance point used to protect the local population.

This route begins in the square called Plaça Major in Llíber, a village in La Vall de Pop. From the square you go around Muntanyeta, enjoying the beautiful views of Xaló, Serra del Ferrer and Carrascar de Parcent, until you reach the point where the River Gorgos can be crossed. Later, ascend towards the rocks known as Penyes Negres i Blanques until the intersection with the PR-CV 53.3 route. Continue walking until you reach the ravine of the Serra del Castell mountain range, from where you have to descend towards the Solana urbanisation and from here to Xaló, near the river crossing.
