In ancient times, this route linked the villages of Xaló and Tàrbena. Throughout the journey you can enjoy spectacular views and you have the opportunity to see various Mediterranean crops which are typical of the Alicante area, such as almond trees, vineyards, carob trees and olive trees, some of which are centenarian.
The route starts next to the Xaló Tourist Office, on the promenade known as Passeig de l'Albereda. From this point, cross the road and take Camí Passula and then pass in front of the well known as Pou de les Forques.
After approximately 3 km, the paved road turns into a dirt track and, a few metres further on, you get to a crossroads that coincides with the PR-CV 425 Alcalalí-Coll de Rates trail.
From this point, you begin to ascend and after 1.47 km you have to take the fork to the right and link up with the PR-CV 158 El Carrascar de Parcent, which is a path that leads you to the Coll de Rates viewpoint.
