El Castellet, also called the Castle of Murla or Castle of Orba, according to various historical documents is a castle built in mediaeval Christian times. In 1289, the king granted its construction to Berenguer Mercer, Lord of Murla and these lands.
El Castellet guarded the accesses to La Vall de Laguar and the area known as La Rectoria, in order to sound the alarm in case of possible enemy attacks. Berenguer also used it as a personal residence.
During the visit, one crosses typical terraced fields made using the dry stone technique, with almond trees, as well as areas of Mediterranean undergrowth, where one can see fan palms, traditionally used to make baskets of palm, kermes oak and myrtle.
