The Serra de Segària mountain range separates the marshy area known as Marjal de Pego-Oliva and the valley of the River Girona, so that it extends perpendicularly to the coast like a “sleeping giant”. This mountain range offers you a spectacular 360-degree panoramic view of the Marina Alta region, letting you look out towards the coast as well as inland. It has various routes which are grouped into the PR-CV 415 trail: the Serra de Segària circular route, the trail to the geodesic vertex by way of Portell d'Ondara and the Cova de Bolumini - Portell de Beniarbeig trail.
The Segària circular route starts in the car park, from where you have to go up until you reach the Segària park and then continue along the PR-CV 415 trail, heading west along the Solana irrigation channel. Pass through the Portell d'Ondara junction and a few kilometres further on you get to some hydrological infrastructures, where there is the link to Portell de Beniarbeig. Continue walking along the route and go up to the Benimeli mountain pass, where you can see an old well, called Les Bassetes. From here, follow the direction given by the signpost that indicates “Poblat ibèric” and start the ascent towards the television and telephone antennas. At the end of the ascent, take a paved track that goes up to the antennas. From here, after a very short distance walking along the path, you arrive at the Iberian settlement. Follow the trail, beginning a long descent, which takes you to the spring known as Font de Català and, skirting the north face, head east until you reach a karst complex (Morro de les Coves - Cova Fosca) passing next to Penya Roja. Finally, continue walking along the route until you reach the starting point.
