La Vall de Laguar
With this proposal you can walk around the surroundings of the Vall de Laguar, specifically from Fleix to Campell and discover different types of flora depending on each corner. You can also discover all the species planted in the ‘Jardí rebrotador de l’Ermita de Sant Josep'. This garden has been planted by the students of the CEIP Cavall Verd, in order to generate a seed bank of autochthonous resprouting species capable of surviving a big fire like the one that took place in the Vall de Laguar in August 2022 and that was caused in the Vall d'Ebo by lightning one night during a dry storm, devastating a total of 13.000 ha.
Our walk starts at the Fleix car park, from there we will go to look for the church of San Pascual Bailón, we will continue walking until we leave the village and take the path that goes to the Font del Gel, along this path we will be able to observe native flora of the area and also some fields of almond, cherry and carob trees. We can also observe aquatic ecosystems typical of the springs such as well ferns, duckweed and other species typical of the dry stone margins such as the navel of venus, the shepherd's grape or the valerian that grow between the hollows of the stones. We will take the path that goes down towards the hermitage of Sant Josep and the village of Campell. When we reach the hermitage we will be able to observe the species that make up the Jardí rebrotador, with varieties of autochthonous flora, which you can learn more about by scanning the QR codes that you will find there.
To finish this route we will take the path next to the hermitage and go back up to the village of Fleix, the route will end at the same starting point.
