La Vall de Laguar
Today's route leads you through areas surrounded by lands of rainfed crops (almond, cherry and olive trees), giving you the chance to enjoy the landscapes of orchards that have existed here and have been cultivated since the Middle Ages. At the epicenter of the journey you can see a lagoon, which with torrential rains becomes a wetland. The ascent from Benimaurell to the crest of the Penyó mountain range is steep and takes you along the old royal road, as you pass by the Aigua cave. The views from the ridge are marvellous, and you can see La Vall de Laguar, La Vall de Pop, the riverbed of the River Girona, Dénia, its coast and Montgó.
