The Ethnological Museum of Alcalalí is a building (formerly called Almàssera) that was rehabilitated by the Town Hall, where one can find the machinery used to transform grapes and olives into wine and oil. This edifice was put into operation at the end of the 1950s and closed in 1998, and farmers from the municipality and from neighbouring areas used to come to the building to bring their grapes and olives.
Visitors can learn about the transformation process through explanatory brochures in several languages and can see the machines that were used, such as the scales, the press and the millstones. This museum is a part of the Alicante Wine Route (Ruta del Vi d'Alacant).
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 9am to 2pm.
Are guided visits possible? No.
