La Casa de La Senyoreta de La Bassa, which could be translated as the Lady of the Pond’s House, is a building from the beginning of the 20th century. It has a ground floor and two more levels, and it was conceived as a house. It occupies a plot of 800 square metres and has an interior courtyard next to the church known as Església de La Mare de Déu del Rosari.
This property was privately owned until the Town Hall of El Verger acquired it in 2008. The initiative began in 2004, but it was not until 2008 that the Town Hall managed to acquire the house, after tough negotiations and changes of owners. The goal of this acquisition, apart from expanding the municipality’s historical heritage, was the creation of new spaces for cultural and neighbourhood uses.
Currently, it has been restored through an employment workshop, with the aim of housing within this building an ethnological museum, an archive library, the future Tourist Information office, multipurpose training rooms and the Local Development Agency.
