Gata de Gorgos
/
Parcent
This second stage of the trail called GR 330 Costa Blanca Interior runs between Gata de Gorgos and Parcent. Along the route you cross the mountain range known as Serra de Seldetes, with some impressive views of the surrounding mountains, such as Montgó, and you also get the chance to walk among the immense sea of vineyards that floods La Vall de Pop. The route is an opportunity to discover unique and somewhat magical corners full of culture and history.
This second stage begins in the municipality of Gata de Gorgos. Leave the village through the park known as Parc del Raval, and head towards Mas de les Mallades after crossing the river.
Then, go to the top of Serrellars making a stop at the cistern of the spring known as Font de la Mata, with its spectacular mastic tree which is estimated to be between 600 and 800 years old.
From the summit you can enjoy the views of the mountain range known as Serra de Bèrnia, the Penyal d'Ifac rock and Montgó.
At the beginning of the descent towards La Vall de Pop, you walk amongst terraced fields which can be appreciated for the dry stone architectural technique used.
After passing through Benissa you get to Senija and you then have to take Camí Vell de Llíber, which leads you to the plain of the municipality of Llíber and becomes a walk through an area dominated by vineyards until you reach the urban area of this municipality, with its clearly Arab cultural heritage.
Continue the trail along the Xaló-Gorgos river, strolling through the Xaló and Alcalalí areas along rural roads and next to crops.
You reach the end point of this stage by walking along the side of the ravine called Barranc de l'Alberca, until you reach Parcent.
