The Archaeological and Ethnological Museum of Xaló (MAEX) permits the visitor to take a journey through history, observing the various cultures and civilizations that have existed on the territory of the Xaló valley.

The permanent exhibition is organised into three rooms:

Room I focuses on the settlement of the Xaló valley from a historical and archaeological perspective, covering a period ranging from prehistoric times to the contemporary era. The space dedicated to the Roman villa of Les Hortes stands out.

Room II delves into the settling process of the territory, from an ethnological perspective and focusing on the physical environment as well as on the human communities and traditional activities developed in the area, paying special attention to the heritage of dry stone wall construction and the world of raisins.

Room III houses a multipurpose space dedicated to holding various types of events related to the dissemination of local cultural heritage (temporary exhibitions, conferences, workshops, etc.).

The visit focuses on a chronological itinerary centred around local cultural heritage, through the exhibition of objects of material culture and the use of graphic and audiovisual resources, focused on the imprints of the various cultures and the physical surroundings, all from an archaeological and ethnological point of view.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 10am to 2pm. Thursday afternoon from 4pm to 8pm. Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
