The neoclassical church of Benidoleig is a small modern temple that dates back to the 19th century. The parish occupies the site of an old 17th-century hermitage, as can be seen from its portico, which is topped with a simple lintel displaying a pointed opening that recalls the town's Muslim origins.
Initially attached to Orba, the church became an independent parish in 1802 under the patronage of La Santíssima Sang.
The construction of the church and altars took place in 1818 and 1819 respectively, with sculptures added later on. In 1857, the bell tower and the choir at the entrance were built, and the church was enlarged. Ornamental works were carried out in 1920.
