This route is six kilometres long, linear, with a high difficulty level and an estimated duration of three hours. It starts at the beginning of the Camí de Les Colònies trail, next to the hermitage known as Ermita del Pare Pere. At the bifurcation, take the path to the right that goes towards Racó del Bou. Continue along the path indicated on the signs as it gains in altitude and becomes steeper, amongst pines, steppes and endemic flora. At the next fork in the path, follow the direction towards the summit. From this point onwards, the ascent becomes more complicated due to the steep slope and the loose stones on the path, and therefore extreme care must be taken.
When the route gets to a sign that indicates the path that goes towards the summit, keep walking until there is another fork with a path that leads to Creueta de Dénia, located after the rocks, a few metres away from that point. By following the main path, one reaches the summit of El Montgó, where it is possible to enjoy some fantastic views of the coast and even see the Balearic Islands in the distance.
