Geocaching is a recreational activity which entails searching for treasures outdoors, using devices with a GPS connection. Participants go to a specific location by way of GPS coordinates and then try to find the geocache (container) hidden in that place. This fun game combines technology and sports in a way which is attractive for any age group.
Alcalalí has four containers:
- One near the washing place and fountain of Alcalalí.
- One near the Font de la Cava spring.
- One at the hermitage known as Ermita del Calvario, where there is a sculpture of the Virgen del Calvario created by the Valencian sculptor Vicente Rodilla Zanón (a work of art that won the first prize at the Regional Exhibition of Crafts, in December 1952).
- One at the hermitage dedicated to San Juan de Mosquera, located in the rural district called Mosquera which has its origins in a Moorish farmhouse that had the same name.
