This route is a circular trail and is 1.8 km long.

The origin of this route is to be found in the Castle of Ambra, whose name comes from the mountain upon which it is located. Its construction dates back to the 13th century and it was built due to the fear that the Muslims had with regards to the advancing Christian conquest of the Iberian peninsula.

Although it is currently in ruins, in the past its role was to guard the passage through the valley locally known as La Vall d'Ebo, but it also served as a place of refuge for the population which lived in the surrounding areas.

It was not relevant during the processes of surrender forced by Jaume I upon the Muslim population, but it did participate in the revolts led by Al-Azraq, the famous Moorish leader who controlled the area.

After the rebellions, the castle came under Christian rule. However, the various attempts to repopulate the area were unsuccessful and the castle ended up abandoned.

This route to Ambra Castle starts from the avenue called Avinguda Il·lustrat Joan Sala, taking you along an asphalt road until you reach a pond located on your left. Soon afterwards, you ascend along a path from where you can observe the beautiful terraces full of orange trees that accompany you during your hike.

Continue advancing until you reach a section of the path which ascends to the left, in order to reach the castle. You have to climb up some concrete steps so as to finally get to the Castle of Ambra, from where you can contemplate the beautiful views. Afterwards, descend along the same path that you used to climb up to the castle.
