Exploring the urban core of Moraira means delving into its fishing tradition. On Carrer de La Mar, one can observe the tables of the old fish market (“llotja”), built in 1943 for selling the day's catches. The Confraria de Pescadors de Moraira (Moraira Fishermen's Guild) was founded in 1929. Noteworthy is the Margenot, a containment wall built in 1935 to protect against storms.

In the past, at the end of Carrer de La Mar, there was a bay-shaped beach, which is now gone, that fishermen used as a launching point for their boats. On this street and the adjacent ones, such as Carrer dels Porxes, the sailors would haul their boats ashore during stormy weather. From here, there is access to the Club Nàutic Moraira, built-in 1979, which provides 620 mooring points.

From the street called Carrer de Les Platges one can go to Carrer dels Magatzems, the name of which evokes the 19th-century economic boom when muscat grapes were transformed into raisins and packed in warehouses (“magatzems”) for export to Europe and the rest of the world on ships.

The rest of the route allows the visitor to explore the parish church of La Mare de Déu dels Desemparats, built around 1875; the esplanade of the Castle of Moraira from the 18th century, which houses an interpretation centre of the watchtowers along the Valencian coastline; the peninsula of Cap d'Or, crowned by the watchtower of the same name (16th century); and, finally, the Ampolla Beach and the Senillar marsh, a small lagoon declared a Wildlife Reserve by the Valencian Government in 2004.
