Geocaching is a recreational activity which entails searching for treasures outdoors, using devices with a GPS connection. Participants go to a specific location by way of GPS coordinates and then try to find the geocache (container) hidden in that place. This fun game combines technology and sports in a way which is attractive for any age group.
Benigembla has six containers:
- Font de l’Ullet: one of the many springs and fountains in Benigembla. An old spring and a great work of engineering undertaken by farmers in the past, permitting them to retain the water and create terraced fields for irrigated vegetable gardens (hortetes).
- Benigembla's washing place: oddly, the one in Benigembla is located far below the village, at the height of the river, which is something typical in villages located at a much higher altitude than the river or the main affluence of water, thereby facilitating the construction and avoiding huge engineering investments in order to raise the water up to the village.
- Font de Pascualet: an old spring used to irrigate terraced fields.
- Font de baix. Peñas blancas: an old drinking fountain for animals.
- Font de dalt. Peñas blancas: an old drinking fountain for animals.
- Sindicat: this is the Social Centre of the former agricultural cooperative (temporarily not active).
